Does anyone know anything about this Camera? There is one going on eBay here in Australia that I am watching. 3 days to go and no bidders with a $1 starting price. It looks like it could be an M42 mount and I am sure the lens is a 1.4!
Please help me.

I can remember a gentleman posting about Porst on the IDCC - evidently it is a German re-branding of all sorts of cameras at different periods of time. Rather like Hanimex did. I have found his web site, but it is in German. www.kamera-geschichte.de/Scroll down the left hand navigation bar & select "Alle Hausmarken" Everything is listed. In fact so much is listed that looks Cosina, perhaps this reply should be in the Cosina thread! Paul

Thanks for the reply. I had a look and I couldn't find the one I am interested in amongst all those rebranded cameras. I did do a search last night and I have a feeling that the Porst I am watching is based on the Ricoh Singlex TLS. hermanland.com:8080/blog/camera/pages/ricoh_singlex_tls.htmlThe Porst on eBay looks almost identical to this one. Hi...Yes, German Porst rebranded some cameras for retail sale. One rebranded camera was the 35mm Fujica AX bayonet camera. There were three models(AX-1, AX-3, AX-5). I'm not sure, but I don't think Porst rebranded Fujica M42 thread mount cameras. Fujica left the 35mm field about the mid 80's. Further info about Porst branded Fujica cameras can be found at the Yahoo Fujica club website by a Google search using the words Yahoo & Fujica.

That is correct. I know for a fact that a Porst CR-7 is a Fujica AX-5.
I have one of each ;D and they are indeed the same camera!

Hi I am the guy with the Internet homepage on Photo PORST as quoted above: www.kamera-geschichte.desorry, I just signed up and I guess I am a bit late to chime in on this thread - the camera on ebay probably is gone by now. At any rate, I assume this is the one you were talking about: www.kamera-geschichte.de/files/porst_slr_uniflex_ttl_d.htmThe PORST reflex TTL This was actually made by Chinon, but also sold to Ricoh and others. You find this camera - during that time (around 1970) under many labels ín almost every catalogue here in Germany. I would love to tell you more about PHOTO PORST, who were (at one time) the worlds largest camera dealer - bringing mail order to the camera market around 1925 But - I have to work now - but I will be back best regards from Bavaria in Southern germany Josef Seidl
