When I returned from our Alaska Cruise there was a special item waiting for me--a"P" focusing screen for my Nikon F4. The standard F4 screen has a microprism center spot which I find difficult to focus. My older F3 and FM both have split image finders which are much easier to focus with glasses. The P screen has a 45-degree split image and etched vertical and horizontal lines. The image really snaps into focus--not just because of the split image--the surrounding area seems brighter than the standard finder, too. Just wish I had had it before out trip. I another week we're off to Cody, Wyoming for six days so I'll get a chance to give it a good test run.
The only microprism focusing spot that has worked well for me is the one in the Zenit camera. It really snaps in and out of focus.

Some people like the 45% angle of the P screen. They find it easy to find a straight edge to focus on with the angled split.

You WILL definately like the split-image P over any. Have one myself on my F4s. Just so easy to focus and the grid lines come in quite handy.
