yesterday i took the dog out for a nice, very cold walk. i took the om2 along with the 180/2.8. what a nice lens, well balanced and just does not feel as big as it is. part way through the walk i realized there was no film in the camera! i did this a while ago also and shook my head just as hard this time. but i continued on as if i HAD film in the camera just to get used to the lens/camera balance.
today, i loaded film before our next frigid walk, some apx 400 but rated at 200. it wasn't as sunny as yesterday but still plenty bright with lots of new fallen snow. i shot off maybe 12 shots or so, just some calendar kind of stuff.
i'd like to report that this is a great lens to use. as soon as i polish off this roll i can tell ya if it's any good optically and if the cleaning marks on it have any effect on the images (i doubt it). my hand shaking will likely have more impact but i tried to keep the shutter speed up there.
