This is the latest addition to the herd of cameras. A Minolta Maxxum 300si. I am aware (now) that it is a very basic camera w/ program only for the main shooting method, and the standard creative modes (Portrait, landscape, macro, sports, and night). It's a nice camera, and came with a Quantaray 28~90mm zoom, and a Quantaray 70~210mm tele-zoom lens, and now on to the bad things. It seems the built-in flash is dead which I was not aware of till I replaced the battery (after buying a new battery for it after the purchase). I knew the film door catch was broken, so I'm using black Duct tape to hold it shut till I can either get it fixed (like I can afford that at $99.00 + $12.95 s&h), find a working replacement body, or one that is non-working for the parts on the bay. The seller was asking $189.00, but do to the broken film door catch she lowered the price to $70.00. She stated that the lenses were worth that much alone. That, I am not so sure about. I know, I know. I need to have my head examined for doing it, but [glow=red,2,300]I[/glow] was under the delusion that [glow=red,2,300]I could fix it myself.[/glow]Silly me.

The lenses are worth more than 70 together. I paid more than that for a Maxxum 35-80. I have a Maxxum SPxi and a Maxxum 7000.

I managed to find another 300si on the bay w/ a 35~70 Minolta zoom, user manual, and bag for a total of $25.45 with s&h. That will give me 3 lenses that compliment one another I guess. Lol.
