What's the word on the KR5 SuperII? Good, Bad? I read that someone compared it to a K1000.

I won myself a Ricoh KR 5 Super II with an 80~200 w/ macro tele-photo lens the other day. I received it on Saturday. It's a good looking little camera, and is relatively light compared to most of my others, even with the tele-photo lens. Only problem it has is the housing over the pentaprism is cracked, not real badly, but I put tape over the cracks to try and keep them from getting worse. I would have used superglue, but I wasn't sure what the fumes might do to the prism or other parts of the camera. It's not a pretty fix, but it seems to be working for the time being.

I believe it's another version of the Cosina CT series chassis that is the basis of the recent Voigtlander cameras and a whole bunch of others.

Well, after having used the KR-5 SuperII for about 3 weeks, I'm not really impressed with the metering.
I at first though that maybe it was the tele-photo lens that could have been the problem, so I bought a Rikenon 50mm f/2 lens to see if it would make a difference.
It didn't.
What I'm talking about is, being stuck shooting at an aperture of f/8 or f/11 at a shutter speed of 1/125 or 1/250 outside on a bright sunny day, or setting it at an f/2 or f/4 at 1/4 or 1/8 speed indoors with bright lighting. (I know for the indoor shots I should use a flash.)
If I try to adjust it for any other shutter speeds or f/stops the LEDS either go to the + or - in the viewfinder.
I'm not the biggest fan of the 3 LED display, but it was/is popular, and probably also cheaper/easier to produce than the match needle, or a standard needle scale display. It's a good camera, but I guess I'm just picky.

What are the pictures like? My Konica FP-1 won't let you do anything, but the pictures turn out great!

I'm going to get the test roll developed here in the next couple of days to see how they look.
