Now you're talkin' my language Alex, most of my M42 equipment is based around my love of Pentax Spotmatics and the earlier H series (S series down there). Good to see you've got the 50 f1.4, a classic lens sharp as a razor. I have the 200 f3.5 as well as a 28, 35 , and several 135's and 50's. No macro lens yet as I'm a cheapskate. Of all my M42 equipment (I have approx. 155 bodies and oodles of lenses) I prefer the Pentax first, then my Ricohs, Zenits and Prakticas, etc.

You sure are getting a neat collection of cameras...plus the lenses and accessories for them.
I particularly like those pics with the 200 lens.
Have an old H1 and Spotmatic II.

My first SLR was Asahi Pentax Spotmatic and our love affair isn't over yet ;D
I made my choice between Minolta, Canon, Miranda and Asahi. The winner was Pentax because it was smallest and it had a M42 screw mount. My father had KW Practica and several usable lenses for it. This made my choice easier.
That Honeywell Pentax is actually the same camera as Asahi Pentax. Some US distributors used to badge their imported articles with their own name. Except Honeywell there were such names as Roebucks ,Sears and Tower and obviously more. Please correct me because I only remember those names and not exactly how they were used. Some Canon cameras were sold as Bell&Howell. I bough a Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Digital ELPH two years ago on my visit in Georgia. Here it is named Canon Digital Ixus 950 IS and in Japan it is called IXY, who knows why. What is aberrant is, that this time the number is smaller in Europe than in USA. Normally it used to be vice versa. Once it was a common joke here, that in America even the dwarfs are bigger.

One of my early SLRs was an Asahi Pentax pre Spotmatic the 35mm, 50mm and 200mm Takumars. It was mint and I suspect was brought to the States by someone returning from 'Nam. It had the meter that clipped on the Pentaprism. It was a beautiful camera--both camera and lens "smooth as silk." Later the newspaper where I worked switched from Yashica 124Gs to Spotmatics. I had one in the darkroom but used it mostly for copying and used my personal Nikon F and Nikkormat for shooting assignments. Company would buy any additional lenses for the Spotmatic which limited it's value.
