To all recently joined members: Welcome to The Camera Collector. If you haven't already done so please post something about yourselves, where you live, the type of cameras you like and your collection - even if at the moment you've got only a couple.
By now you've probably gathered that we're a very friendly bunch, always interested in what you collect.
So let's hear from you.

Hi Andrew, enjoy The Camera Collector.
Interesting story, and I'm sure you play down what must have been some very trying times. Loss of memory like that must be very frustrating.
Glad to hear you have now got back into cameras and photgraphy; they're great therapy!
Best wishes for your future camera work.

Hello, Andrew. Welcome to the Camera Collector! Sounds like you've had your share of trying times. Glad to hear that things seem to be on the mend ... and you seem to have some good support, too. Cameras and photography are, as Peter says, and excellent theraputic pasttime! Hope you continue to enjoy it ... and we all hope you visit and post here often!

thanks for the welcome...
reading it back it sounds a little silly so i may modify it at some point. just goes to show though if you have a bit of a passion for something you find your way back to it

Andrew:
Welcome: One thing about this particular forum is that although we are scattered all over the world we all share at least some common experiences and out love for photography.
When I was a kid some friend and I would go to the auctiopns and buy the old uprght tube radios in beautiful wood cabinets--some dated to the '20s and '30s. Usually paid like 75 cents for one, tore out the innards, threw the beautiful cabinets away and tried to get the hardware working so we could listen to the shortwave bands -- the BBC, Radio Moscow, The San Francisco Police Department Dispatcher!
