Can't get this picture the right way up whatever! It's a local beer, commemorating how country people count differently to city folk. "One, two, three, four. five..." What could be simpler? Not here. "Yan, T'Yan, Tethera, Methera, Pump...." And it gets worse, because it changes in different parts of the country. In the Yorkshire Dales it becomes "Yan, Tan, Tether, Mether, Pip..." I believe they're all variations of the original Celtic upland language - pretty sure "Pump" means 5 in Welsh. You don't hear it often in everyday speech, although here in Cumbria people do say that someone is "In yan" (In one -meaning that they are out of sorts, in a bad mood). Another piece of useless information! Regards - John
