We just got back from a road trip to Western Canada and just wanted to share some photos from that area. All were shot using a Contax II and either a CZJ 50/1.5 or J-13. All with one exception resized for 8x10 printing. Sorry can't figure out how to delete double photo in post Bob Writing on Stone Provincial Park AB Writing on Stone Provincial Park AB Waterton National Park AB Waterton National Park AB En route to Grasslands Provincial Park AB Waterton National Park AB En route Cypress Hills Provincial Park AB Beside road between Jasper and Banff AB

Bob,
These pics really bring home the grandeur of the country. Love 'em!
Contax II ... Makes you wonder just how far we have advanced in the past 70 or so years! Come away from the optical bench and sample the pudding ... and all that.

Peter
People always think of the mountains when it comes to grandeur but two things have always made me fell small and insignificant, the sea and the western prairies. The mountains aren't too shabby either but I just think most people short change the prairies.
I would like to say that the Contax II performed flawlessly but when I developed the rolls it turned out that it has an intermittent shutter problem so it is going back for repair under warranty. Still not a bad show for a mechanical device that is 71 years old. As for the old Sonnar 50/1.5 I really can't complain except for how it handled flare but I knew that going in. The J-12 is better in that department but then it is coated and neither were slouches for sharpness. My wife's digital was easier to use but doesn't give me near the satisfaction as getting good results from the Contax combo. Come a loooooong way? Maybe, but I am not so sure now.

Wow! Beautiful pictures. I am not familiar with the landscapes. They are stunning.
