A mood of cautious optimism is becoming more and more apparent as Mother Nature continues to cut weary firefighters a little slack. Predicted high winds have failed to materialize, and the severe high pressure area is beginning to dissipate, allowing humidity to rise, making containment efforts more effective. "Immediate threat" evacuation orders have been lifted for the entire Town of Paradise, allowing worried residents to return to their homes for the first time in days. Traffic is still restricted to residents only, with ID required. The Concow, Jarboe Gap, Berry Creek and Big Bend areas on the south side of the "Camp" fire are still under "Immediate Threat" orders. The fire is still moving slowly toward the area of Concow that was spared the first time around. However, intensive efforts by the combined force of firefighters is having an effect. Peter, maybe your desire for some better news is working. Dave, thank you to your people for sending us help. It is deeply appreciated. Wish I could take credit for these photos, but they were lifted from the website of KHSL TV here in Chico. They were submitted without credit or copywrite by private citizens for web publication. Striking! Cause And Effect Roy
