I occasionally take pictures of people. Today I stopped by the local deli to pick up some lunch foods and got there just as the freshly cooked BBQ chicken breasts and legs were placed on the counter. The lady serving me is one of my favourite store people. She and I always joke about my purchases. She has a European accent that I can't quite identify (maybe German, or maybe Swiss-German) and a lovely smile. Gene Nikon D300, Nikkor AF 24/2.

Gene:
Putting the D300 to work right away I see. 24mm is a great lens on the D cameras IMO. It gives essentially the same view as a 35mm film lens--one of my favorite focal lengths.

Wayne,
I certainly agree. The 24mm is a lovely lens on a DSLR. My 24mm is also the only AF wide angle prime I own, so that makes it doubly nice to use. My 20mm and 28mm are both manual focus. Not bad, but not nearly as fast to use.

I had a 24 af but sold it to get a 20mm af. I have an ai 24 but am tempted to keep my eye open for the af model. BTW, I really like the 20mm on the D300 (like a film 30mm) but it's larger and heavier than the 24mm.

I would like to put in my 2 cents worth about wide angle lenses but I can't get my mind off that delicious looking chicken.
