Streaking across the finish line is Summer Lightning, followed closely by Slippery Sam. Following up at a distant third is ... Beetlebaum. Canon SD800 IS Gene

Gene, Here is my entry. Silver Streak. A true thoroughbred. I just whisper the word "escargot" in his ear and he takes off like an Olympian on hormones. This photo demonstrates the amazing action stopping capabilities of the Pentax K100D. Mickey

Throw a little salt on the track. That will keep 'em from slipping.

Aw, c'mon. They are friendly little creatures. They are quiet unlike my next door neighbour's perpetually yapping sheltey. They are undemanding. All they require is a little vegetation. They seem to prefer day lillies. Upon close examination of the flowers the little critters don't seem to have harmed anything. I know they adore slightly outdated watermelon.
SAVE THE SNAILS!!!!
Are they edible?
