I was wandering around during lunch today with the Nikon D300 and 18-200mm lens with the ISO set at 200. I happened to look up and a hawk was cruising overhead. I got him in the finder and fired. I wasn't in the best focus mode for that type of shot but the first shot sjhows the whole frame and the second shows a blow up of the hawk. Considering the enlargement and the tradeoffs one gests with an 18-200mm lens, I don't thin the shot is too bad. I had vibration reduction turned on and was shooting at f11 at about 1/250 sec. At the very top of the frame you can see a couple of pigeons vamoosing out of the area--going considerably faster than the hawk.
