Took the day off and drove south of the border to see what fall has brought there. Great weather and good sites between Thunder Bay and Two Harbours MN, about a 300 mile round trip. Some leaves had turned to add to the pleasure. An old 70-210 F4 AF Nikkor did most of the work on the D700. Shots cropped to print 8x10. Bob, spectacular shots! You live in a beautiful part of the province. Fall is probably my favourite season (spring a close second) so I love those turning leaves in #1.

Thanks, for some reason 2 and 3 are less sharp when resized for web use and also less sharp than the 8x10 prints. Still struggling with all the effort to use NX2 and converting down for web. Think I will go back to shooting JPEGS and save the hassle.

Bob, I've been using NX2 for awhile now and quite like it. I think all you may need is a final step: after resizing down to web size, digital images need a bit of sharpening. NX2 has a good sharpening module. I just eyeball it until the image looks a bit sharper -- it's easy to overdo it so I often use the opacity tool to 'pull back' the sharpening a little from where it looks good on my screen.

Bob,
Beautiful early autumn pictures. And the best is yet to come. Whoever made Canada and especially The North Shore must have been an avid photographer.

Thanks for the tip, but I am so frustrated by NX2 that I only use it for NEFFs convert them to TIFFs and do the rest in PSE 2.0. I just hate it's user interface, too bad it does such a fine job on NEFFs.

Thanks, the print looks super.

Thanks, yea he must have been a photographer but then again I have seen his work in a lot of other places too.
