At the risk of boring most of you senseless again, here's another lot of pictures of a local church. This time the church itself is pretty old - 11 hundred and something, built of the local (almost white) granite. The bell-ringers have to stand outside... And the outer door is unusual - to keep the sheep out of the porch (they crop the grass in the graveyard)... There is the stem of another ancient cross (two in fact). This one is even older than the Gosforth and Santon ones - made about 600AD... And an eighteenth century sundial (with the other cross stem at the base). The sundial pointer is at head height. "Who would be able to tell the time from that?", you may well ask... Try someone on a horse. Regards - John

Not this one Randy. It's light and airy and smells slightly of beeswax wood polish. If I get time I'll get some pictures from another local church. Now that one IS mildewed and dank. A tragedy really, because its about the same age as this one. The village moved. (Yes I mean the whole village upped and moved a mile away, and they built another church when they got there!).

Not boring at all John. Small out of the way places having interesting snapshots of the past.

Reminds me of a church we visited at Oxborough last year when we were in the UK.

John,
It must be very gratifying to live among so much history.
I shall have to wait another 400 or 500 years before being able to take that kind of picture.
