There have been several attempts to post messages on forums inviting people to join Grouply. The messages say that members will find it interesting.
They come from different people but are all basically the same. I am told they have also gone out as emails but have not yet (yesterday) been picked up as spam by some spam filters.
As a moderator on the vintageslrs forum I received a request to allow the sender to join and post his invitation. Before refusing I got in touch with Bob and found out that he had already refused permission.
I have not opened the Grouply site but I read on another forum a posting from someone who has. He wrote that it tries to get you to upload sensitive information like IDs and passwords. He didn't say whether or not it contained anything like spyware or similar nasties.
Beware if you receive an invitation. My advice would be to dump it straight in the trash bin without opening it.
