Had the urge to get a new general purpose travel zoom and got a Nikon 70-300 VR. I always liked deer and we have them within the city limits here. There is no legal hunting pressure making them pretty co operative subjects to test on. The lens is not too shabby stopped down to F8 at the long end where it is supposedly the weakest IQ wise. The images were taken using iso 800.♠ Bob

From where I'm sitting, Bob, there's nothing at all wrong with that lens - and I like the bokeh because there isn't any . Lovely pictures, and beautifully in focus. PeterW
