We had some aircraft that are not normally seen here too often pay us a visit this past weekend. Just grabbed a couple of shots, the weather was terrible. The weather may have been terrible, Bob, but the pics look pretty good.

Thanks. I'll have get some more practice, they could be better.

Good to see you are feeling well enough to be on the PC. Sadly it may be the hercybird's replacement but it doesn't have the same appeal. to me at least.

Actually it's a C17--my mistake. Wayne

Could have used some of that subdued light when your visitors were here in Chico! ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) That head-on shot is a definite keeper! Agreed on the 130. But I gotta admit seeing the C-17 making a low pass down the runway, in fully controlled and sustained flight, at less than 75 mph was impressive! Roy

Just to throw a curve in, it is known as a CC177 in our service.

Apparently the C-130 is far from dead. A co-worker recently left us for a job with Lockheed at the C-130 facility. They'll be keeping him busy well into the forseeable future. On the other hand, I'm being put on a 32 hour work week at Piper Aircraft for the forseeable future and we're in better shape than some other general aviation builders.

Hey Bob, was looking thru my pics from this year's show, and found this that you might be interested in. This Hornet came along with the demo team, and spent the two days here in Chico. When he left, he put on a gut-wrenching, full-burner, hi-G demo, then went out of sight northbound back toward Canada. ![](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc136/olroy2044/Air%20Fest%2008/267766-R1-22-1.jpg)

Thanks for digging up the photo. For some reason F-18's are fairly regular visitors at our local airport. When the weather get warmer, next year, I am hoping to get some practice on photographing them. They usually over fly the field on approach and then circle back to land so you have some time to scramble out, if you have a camera ready, to try some shots. Very considerate of them to do so.
