That lens plays really well on the D300, Wayne. Very sharp, but with a nice rendition of OOF areas.

I sized them down a bit more.
That one thing I have always liked about the Kiron--the way it handles OOF--plus the fact the lens is built as well (maybe better) than many Nikkors of that period.

Is it possible that Kiron made the Nikon "E" 70-210mm F4.0 Zoom for Nikon?

I doubt Kiron made the E series . All the Kiron lenses are overbuilt to the point of being a load to haul around--like they are machined out of steel billets. Had a Vivitar badged Kiron 35-85mm f2.8 that produced super images but I finally sold because it was just too heavy.

I have two Viv badged Kirons, and both are terrific lenses. But they are heavy! I don't mind the weight, however, as I find it easier to hold them steady. Roy
