Stephen: The bridge is made from the wooden trusses of the roof of a commercial building that was built over the creek for many years. When the city uncovered the creek they saved the trusses. The color comes from a wood preservative that was applied. I'm not a plat expert--don't know what the red plant is--it was planted as part of the creek restoration. Don't think it is native to our area. Yes, I'm very pleased with the D50. I'll ignore the "colour" remark. You Brits write and spell as funny as you speak. Wayne

Wayne
Gotta ask.....why are your photos ALWAYS so clear and so sharp?
Does it have something to do with how you upload your photos? Or no?

Bob: Don't know how to answer your question other than usually, if the photo is a horizontal, I size it to 72 dpi by 700 pixels wide and then use the Photoshop "save for web" option that gives me an image of less than 100 kb. Anything over 72 dpi on the web is pretty much a waste of resources. In digital I shoot almost everything as raw images, then do the initial processing in Nikon Capture NX2. Recently, I've been doing a lot of shooting using a profile that jacks up the color saturation a tiny bit--the above shots were done that way. Here's another. Excuse the language.
