I like the first picture particularly, Wayne. It would be tempting to stand in the middle of the track for a 'centre-point' perspective, but moving slightly to one side is more effective.
It also lets the line of telephone poles, diminishing in size, add to the feeling of distance.

I like the first one also Wayne. The one with the shopping cart makes me wonder how long it will be until some enterprising youth puts it in the path of a train. They do that often around here, shopping carts, refridgerators, old tires.....

Luckily enough they don't put crap on train rails round here but they sure do like spray paint. I once was going to try and document the many varieties but gave up when the vandalism began to tick me off.
