Nice! It actually looks good as is.. there's a house I go by every day with two 50's cars in the drive. I don't know if they ever move. But they sure do look fine

I am not a car fancier. If it gets me from A to B without trouble I am happy.
Please forgive my criticism.
If you can find a head on photo of a whale shark with its gaping maw you will see what must have been the inspiration for the design of this car.

you got some good pics comming recently Roy! another beauty, these ol 57 chev belairs were popular down here and still the odd one driving around, some i notice are all prissied up nowadays and used as wedding vehicles on saturdays. i had a mate that had a later model (mid 60's), giant bloody car, the sort of car we would commonly call a "yank tank" here...i was kinda young back then and going out with pretty girls.....heck there was dancing room in the back...dancing was fun!!!

Thank you all for the nice comments! Mickey, now that you mention it---------------------Nah, the whale shark's more streamlined! ;D ?? That ain't what we called it! I remember when the '57 came out. Chevy's slogan was "The Hot One." I think that was the year the 283 CID engine was introduced as an upgrade to the 265. Whichever it was, it was available in several versions ranging from a mild 2bbl carb version to a 4bb, a dual 4bbl, and actually a mechanically fuel injected version. The latter two versions gave that heavy ol' beast quite respectable (even by today's standards) straight-line performance. They made life miserable for other erstwhile hi-performance cars of the day. It is a testament to the soundness of the design that the same basic design is still in use. Roy
