Well, I just got my latest acquisition: a Yashica MII. It is in very good condition and everything works. I don't know much about them; but, I look forward to putting a few rolls through it ;D

Hi Cuchulainn
(That's a mouthful - is there something snappier we can call you? LOL)
The Minsters are nice rangefinders, once you get the hang of them. I'd advise print film until you do, as the transparencies are more unforgiving. Plenty of instructions on the internet. I've got the original M (which I think is the same as yours only the rewind is on the bottom), and for some reason three Minster IIIs (I like the cyclops eyes for the meter cell !)
Good luck with it, and show us what you get.
Regards - John

Minister? Is that what they're called? I'm trying to find a manual for it? I've got a few rangefinder cameras now and I'm sort of looking into how to use them better. Are there any books that would be of help?

Yes, the M is the original Minister, the MII is the Minister II, although they didn't continue it with the III for some reason. You can generally find manuals here: www.butkus.org/chinon/yashica/yashica_minister_ii/yashica_minister_ii.htmI donate a few dollars occasionally (although my Paypal doesn't work at the moment), as he does a good job. Not sure where he stands copyright-wise though! Regards - John

I have the Minister D model. I'm not sure what the last model was.
