I just got a Pelican 1500 case on Craig's List. I haven't picked it up yet. Supposed to be nigh onto indestructible. It has an O ring seal on the lid to keep out water and dust. Sometime this summer we're going on a river jet boat trip and I will feel a lot better if I know the gear is protected.
Anyone have any experience with Pelican cases? The guy who is selling it had a Canon 5D in it so my Nikon D300 should fit OK. You can even get replacement foam for them.

A favorite with Land Rover Geeks. They all imagined driving their Landies through water up to the windscreen hinges and wanted to keep their Izod shirts dry.
Yeah, they're good cases.

Well, it should be hard to misplace.

You have made a good choice in gear protection. I have one, subdued green colour though, that I had used to transport my match rifle. Never a problem with it or because of it. Day glow orange is better for you, at least you will be able to spot it if it accidentally gets tossed overboard on your jet boat ride.
