I'm ashamed to admit it has been years since I have used a polarizer. In fact, I don't think I had ever used one of the new circular polarizers. But after playing with one today, I'll probably be using one more--especially on bright, sun shiney days. The polarizer keeps the whites from blowing out and really makes the clouds POP.

Yea, very useful as you say, but a royal pain to use with modern bayonet hoods.

Wayne,
Picture 1. What happened to the cast shadows from the buildings? The sun appears to be coming from behind and to the right. Was it overhead? Even the curb is not casting a shadow. Am I, perhaps, missing something obvious? Curious.

Mickey: The sun doesn't cast shadows in Idaho . Actually, the sun is coming frompretty much overhead (noon) and a little to the right. On the left hand side of the picture you can see a little bit of shadow.
