Just in case anyone notices, I'll probably be out of touch until the end of next week. We're taking our 6-year-old grandaughter with us on a trip to Seattle, Washington and the Olympic Peninsula. This weekend is Seattle's annual Sea Fair with hydroplane races and performances by the Blue Angels. We plan to ride the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle. Should be fun with a lot of photo opportunities, although I'm not looking forward to the 9-10-hour drive.

My sister called from Seattle last night. Said it was 104 F at her house (she has one small window air conditioner). I guess we aren't going up ther to cool off. Seems like they turn up the heat whenever I go there. Spent 8 weeks at Ft. Lewis outside Tacoma in 1966. It was the hottest two months there since 1897-- over 90 degrees virtually every day. Of course I was 21 then and that sort of stuff didn't bother me much then.
