I've had a 50mm F/1.8 lens for my Nikon DSLRs but have seldom used it because it leans toward telephoto--75mm on a digital camera. Yesterday, I however, snapped a few shots with my D50 using the lens. It is really sharp even though its about the cheapest Nikkor you can get.

That lens has a reputation for being the best bang for the buck in the modern Nikon AF lens line.
