First off, good to be back! I have been given a Perlux 35mm camera, with Prontor-s shutter, the optics are 1:2.8/45 Staeble Kataplast. Before I get too involved, can anyone post any further info? I think its about 60 years old, and like me getting a bit slow! It came complete with leather case and pouch, short cable release, lens hood, 1 yellow and 1 portrait 'lens'(Nebro) Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike, nice to read you again. Perlux (24x24mm) circa 1950, 35mm camera, 24x24mm exposures. Many lens/shutter combinations including Kataplast f2.8/45 in Vario 25-200. Perlux (24x36mm)-circa 1952 Similar to the original Perlux but with 24x36mm image size. Recogniseable by the trapezoidal finder tube. Kataplast f2.8 in Prontor S shutter. Name variants include Bower 35, DeJur D-1, and Adox 35. There was also a Perlux II and IIa. I have 3 DeJur D-1 myself and from doing intensive (ok I stumbled on it once) research the only other camera able to use this lens directly (M39 like LTM but different lens-focal plane difference) is the Braun Paxette.

Hi Curt, Thanks for the info, mine has the 24x36 aspect, I have found a site which shows how to service and repair Prontor shutters, might have a go (bad eyesight and fat fingers permitting)
