Butte County, where I live, was a hotbed of Gold Rush activity. Signs of mining abound, if you know what to look for. Here are a couple of shots from the Feather River channel just outside Oroville. These piles of rocks are the tailings from the dredges which changed the landscape here. The huge earthen dam on the Feather River, which forms Lake Oroville, was built from these tailings. Minolta SRT 202 Kodak 400 BWCN Chunk of metal half buried in the tailings - Nothing to do with mining, but this sucker chased me home! Enjoy

Thank you, Mik. Nah, it's not a hurricane, but a relatively small, but very intense rain squall that moved across the area, literally following me home! Dropped a stupendous amount of rain in a very short period of time. and blew like the dickens! Roy

When I started shooting lightning photo's back in the 80's an old salt told me if your gettin' wet your too close! Great shots by the way, I've always been a sucker for storms.
