I have a Yashica FX-A camera that has a broken winding arm. I also have a FX-1 parts camera. Does anyone know if parts from the FX-1 will work on the FX-A? Other than the broken part, the camera is in really good shape! If not, does anyone know what Yashica camera model is closest in compatibility? I just love Yashica cameras and want to get this one working too!!!

Thanks for your reply! It definitely looks like it's pretty close to me! Maybe I'll use that as a starting point. The problem is that I've not been able to find any info on the FX-A. It's like the camera doesn't really exist!!! You'd thibk someone would know something about these things!

ALMOST THERE!!! I've found that the parts from an FX-103 are compatible with the FX-A. I've already got two rewind knobs, two ASA knobs, and one winding lever. Now, I just need to find one more winding lever to make two complete FX-A cameras! ;D Now, I need the FX-103 Service manual for reference; as it is slightly different from some of the other FX series. Once they are working, it'll be great as there were only around 1500 FX-A cameras sent to the US and Europe (according to research). If I decide to send them out, can anyone recommend a person who may be able to do the repair work?

Is there anyone you'd recommend to work on 35mm SLRs? It doesn't sound like a major operation; I just don't want to blow it!

found one! I was able to locate a place called Crystal Camera Repair that will put on the knobs and do a CLA on the camera for a really good price! I checked out their site and spoke with them and they seem to really know their stuff! I'll let you know how it works out when I get it back!
