Just acquired this a couple of weeks ago - jointly owned with my son "Go on Dad you always wanted a silly car!" 1997, but only 28,000 miles from new. I asked the owner what he was buying "a Bentley Continental Convertible!" Not poor then! He had hardly used it in 7 years - 1400 miles the highest recorded - Only 450 last year. Michael nearly did that last weekend! Picture taken at Ceibwr Bay - 4 miles from where I work Gwbert near Cardigan in the background Does 5mpg when you put your foot down and 24 when you don't! I can see me acquiring a few speeding tickets in my old age - does 150 and at an illegal 85mph (our limit is 70mph over here) I nearly ran into a speed camera last week - I thought I was only doing 65! Wow. Beautiful machine, Paul! And I'll bet it uses A LOT less fuel than my new pick up. But I think you have the image reversed. The steering wheel's on the wrong side

Paul,
Oh boy!
I hope that kind of pleasurable folly continues to follow you.
All my follies are --- boondoggles.

Paul,
Really pleased to read your cheerful posting and to learn that things are going well. Being able to eat normally is an excellent sign.
That is a beautiful motorcar. I wish you thousands of happy miles in it.
Years ago I had several Jaguars, a couple of Mk IIs and a 420, though not all at the same time.
The 420 was sheer luxury, but far too thirsty. On short journeys it drank a gallon about every 10 miles. Even cruising on motorways at a steady 70 mph I never got more than 18 mpg. I never checked the mpg if I was in a hurry - it was probably gallons per mile.
My favourite was my first Mk II, a 3.4 litre. Of all the cars I've owned I think this was my all-time favourite. The other Mk II was a 2.4 and by comparison sadly underpowered.
