Shot with the Spottie on 400 BWCN with a 90-230 TX zoom And just for variety, an Olds Cutlass not far away from the Hudson. ![](http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc136/olroy2044/Black%20and%20White/OldsCutlass.jpg) 300mm TX on this one Enjoy, Roy

Wow! Very Cool!
A 1954 Hudson Hornet! The last of the "real" Hudsons..... And about a 64-65 Cutlass. 2 of the cars I collected when I had some paper....seems so long ago....
Where is the Hudson located? Some Hudson guys might want to buy that and restore it?
thanks Bob

When I was a kid, my father had a 1952 Hudson ... the one that looked like a giant beetle! I bet there are collectors out there who would love that Hudson and that Cutlass!

Ron--you are absolutely right!
And my Dad had a '51 Hudson Commodore Custom Sedan which of course started my love for Hudsons.
I have owned 5 as collector cars in my past.

The Hudson is about 2 miles from where I live, in an older part of Chico. It looks like it hasn't moved in quite a while. Bob, if you want more info, PM me and I'll see what I can find out. The Cutlass is near the airport and the museum. It looks like someone might be getting ready to work on it. When I was a little kid, (back in the dark ages dontcha know ;D) my parents had an old Hudson. I think it was a '41. Dad owned a garage and put a flathead Ford V8 in it. I think the Hudson engine was blown, and he had the flathead. I remember that the car was some horrible shade of green. Dad called it his "Fordson." ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) Roy

Terraplanes were quite cool cars and they were fast for that era. I believe that is what "Dillinger" preferred to use as his get away car.

My Dad also had a Terraplane, a six-cylinder model from the mid 1930s which he bought for a song after the war. It was fast and comfortable but the roadholding left quite a lot to be desired. Unfortunately the engine was clapped out. The bores were so worn that if the engine was left for more than a week we had to take the plugs out and pour about a teasponnful of oil down each one to get enough suction to pull in fuel to start the engine. He gave it to me, but the fuel consumption - about 12 mpg - was too much so I sold it, for slightly more than he gave for it. Here's an advert for a very similar one. ![](http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b75/peterwallage/TerraplaneforCC.jpg) PeterW

I have a neighbor who has been driving his restored 1969 Chevrolet Corvair (the last year they were made). He said if I liked that, I would like another car in his garage. Turned out to be a 1965 Ford Falcon convertible with the 260 cubic inch Ford V8 engine. It could also be obtained with the 289 V8 but there wasn't much performance difference because you couldn't get all the power to the ground in a car that light, anyway. He said there were very few Falcon V8 convertibles made. I have always considered the mid '60s Falcon body style particularly pretty. ![](http://swcornell.com/webphoto/falcon.jpg)
