Don't know if I have previously mention this but a couple of years ago I finally tracked down the Cornell family hometown in the U.K. The Cornells were in Saffron Walden, near Cambridge, as early as 1516. My great great great great great, great, great, etc. grandfather, Thomas Cornell brought his family to America in 1636. There still are Cornells living in Saffron Walden.
When we were in England in 2007 we drove right past Saffron Walden several times but I didn't know then that my roots were there. I hope to return and visit but in the meantime I was wondering if any of you Brits have photos of the town. It apparently is one of the better preserved villages in England and there are buildings there that were standing when Tom Cornell left. If anyone has photos from that area I would love to see them.
Thanks.

Wayne,
Sorry, no. You have probably seen more of it than I have!
Dave.

Sorry Wayne. Although Saffron Walden is in the East of England where I live it's quite a distance away and not a place that I visit. We went there a few times many years ago and probably took photos but I haven't any at hand. If you do an internet search you'll probably find some history and pictures of the area.
It's a bit too big to be called a village; probably it's a market town.
