I have sad news that Reijo Lauro passed away in May. Reijo was a very staunch supporter of our forum, and was one of the first to offer help when needed. We will miss him, and we wish to express our condolences to his family and loved ones.

I always enjoyed to have a look at his “camerasite”. I also liked his threads and comments at the CC. May he rest in peace.

That is sad news. He was far too young (the older I get, the younger it seems).

Do we have any details. Was it expected?
How old was he?
I know he was a good supporter of this site and loved the camera hobby.

I e-mailed him back in April, and his wife answered telling me he was in the hospital in critical condition, she said she would keep me updated, but she didn't. I found out from another member this morning. Reijo would always write me a letter once a year and donate generously to keeping the forum going. He would always write a nice letter, and include me like I was part of his family. He will be missed. I have no contact information at this time. My prayers go out to his family, as they have lost a great human being and generous soul. |

That is a shock, I did not even know he had been ill. I will miss his contributions to this forum. May he rest in peace.

I never knew him - only arriving here after he took his last picture. It says on his camera site www.thecamerasite.net that he died on 4th May 2010. I can tell from your comments what a person he was. My condolences to his family. |

This is very sad news
I knew that Reijo was ill with cancer but did not know that he had died. He was a keen supporter of this forum and his contributions will be missed.
