I've always planned to add a 17 to my collection, I have a 28 and a QL-19.

Peter, it's one of my favs too. I have a second one on its way to me. I find I rarely use the built-in meter, preferring to Sunny-16 outdoor shots and using a hand meter in dodgy lighting. My QL17 lenses flare quite a bit, but a lens shade tames them down. Very sharp lens, and they really *are* easy to load.

Gene,
A nice camera it is and just one of two in my Canon stable. I have not noticed the flare potential, but have always used the lens shade.
The camera is just the right size to hold and carry. I also have a second one for any possible repair parts needed in the future.

Wow, 11 F2's, holy smokes. My only Nikon is an EM and sad to say I've only used it twice. Not the calibre of an F2, more like the Nikon/Cosina I believe it to be. Light, but not that comfortable Nikon heft I'm used to when fondling/drooling over Nikon Bob's collection. So far it's my token Nikon till I find either an affordable (have I mentioned I'm the sultan of cheap) FM2 or an F. I just love old F's and stupidly passed on two of them a few years ago as they were plenty brassed and lacked lenses so I wasn't sure they hadn't lived a hard life. The price was $65 US each so guess I'm just a weee bit too tight with the wallet.

My 28 case is soft and sticky like somebody tried to treat it and went overboard.

Curt,
What? You still haven't obtained any more Nikons??? Come on, guy...ya do not know what ya are missing!!
I can appreciate though that one only has so much money to spend, so many different brands they would like and only so much space in which to put them.
That is a problem we who have gone from just buying and shooting one camera to collecting.

And: tying back to the original thread: The Canonet and Nikon EM are "about" the same size. The Nikon CF-11 case will hold a Canonet. I saw a bin of these cases going for $10 each in a camera remainder store today. I tried a Canonet in one and it fit pretty well, but the ties for around the strap lugs don't quite reach back far enough to tie the ones on the Canonet. The EM must have its strap lugs in a more forward position. Do you know a way to secure the case? (there's no tripod socket screw) Gene
