I have given away all my other Konica stuff but I have to keep this one. Apparently few of these made their way over to North America. This one was brought in by a med student from Japan just after the 2nd world war and given to my wife's uncle.

Phil,
I can't believe no one has commented on this little beauty.
Looks like a gem to me.
Funny how some of these threads never get started or die quickly.

That probably is a relatively rare camera. It has a Leica-style wind knob.

Phil, I can't believe no one has commented on this little beauty. Looks like a gem to me. Funny how some of these threads never get started or die quickly. This is why I changed things around. Posts like this slip through the woodwork without being noticed and that's a shame. This looks like a really nice camera. I have a Konica S1 and S2.

Oldies being my favourites over auto everything AF or Digital, I'm surprised I missed this post. Sorry Phil, I've just had a lot going on lately so very little time for cameras or forums. As things are slowing down a bit I should have a little more time for our group and my self appointed duties there, LOL. Your Konica according to the Collector's Guide To Japanese Cameras is one of three models of Konica 1. There was an early model (1946/47) with Hexar 50mm f3.5, a Made In Occupied Japan model (1948) with Hexar 50 f3.5, and a 1950 version with Hexanon 50 f2.8. All are pretty uncommon over here, the early model especially so. I believe from looking at yours you have the 1950 model. Hope this helps. Great looking old camera, very nice gift.
