I am glad to say, after the frame spacing problem on my Kiev, that the first roll from the Ricoh 500 came out well. Overall a pretty neat camera with lots of personality and the lens does not disappoint me either. Maybe I am not as fussy as who say it is lacking. You can judge for yourself and any comments would be appreciated. Film was 200 Fuji shot between F8 and F4 at low shutter speeds. Bob

These are excellent, Bob. I'm not familiar with the Ricoh 500 -- is it an M42-mount camera? The lens looks very good!

It is the first one that I have handled in person and just liked the condition and built in trigger winder so I took a chance. It is a fixed lens RF with a 45mm F2.8 lens. Looks like I got lucky on this one. Bob

Wow Bob! Those photos are wonderful. I've seen the 500s on evilbay and passed on them, now I'll reconsider.

If you get one the shutter release button does not take a modern cable release. Just fooled around with mine and discovered that it will take the old style Leica bell release or a modern one with the right adaptor. The old style Nikon soft release for the F/F2 also works on it.

Thanks for the kind words. I have to say that a friend of mine laughs when I comment on some of his FSU camera shots by saying "Leica Schmeika" not a thing wrong with those. I have some Leicas but for my use and skill level they are not needed. Nice but..... The location is in what is known as the Cascades locally. It is a park within our city limits and we have many such parks. I guess it is some form of compensation for being in the middle of nowhere. We have had a few foreign visitors who have commented that they can't believe what is available inside the city limits for parks. Our area is also one of the best kept secrets within our own province of Ontario. Sorry to ramble but I am proud of what our region has to offer.

Hi bob Cant believe that park is within city limits but I guess your definition of 'park' is a little different from ours! You still haven't said what city it is or are you sworn to secrecy by the city council? Wouldn't blame them though, here in England some of our wilder bits have had to be closed due to 'visitor fatigue' And yes we do have some' wild bits' here, there just a bit smaller than yours! Regards Chris

No secret, it is Thunder Bay, Ontario a short 1hr and 20 min. flight from Toronto. Yeah Europeans come here for the wild and I go there for the history.
