Rollei B35

Hi !

Today a colleague came in by my office door and asked me if I would like to have a old film camera for free. His wife found it while cleaning out the apartment and wanted to throw it away. My colleague remembered that crazy guy in his company who is collecting this kind of junk. And so I can add a working Rollei B35 from the late 1960`s / early 1970`s to my collection ;D.

Nice camera! I have a B35 collecting dust here somewhere... From memory, it took pretty good pictures as well. Here it is next to my 35SE. At one time I wanted to pick up all of the Rollei 35 models, but other interests intervened.

The B35 is a decent camera, although there is too much plastic in its construction. I've been revisiting the Rollei 35 cameras lately and have been shooting with the Tessar and Sonnar models.

The B35 gave me a lot of problems. I had to replace a number of plastic parts that had been damaged by a heavy-handed user.

Mike, as you said, the colleague who gave me this camera told me, that his wife got it repaired 15 years ago, because of a broken plastic part. I also did some films with the Tessar 3.5/40 model

You know, I have shot with a few tessar lens and a few sonnar lens. As good as the tessar is I still like the sonnar look more.
