Hello Everyone
I purchased a lot of 3 Minolta's and 2 Rokkor lenses and 1 Vivitar zoom lens sight unseen. Well, they came today and boy are they sure "rough" and dirty and all came with film still in them. Will I ever learn? The cameras are an X-570, an XG-M, and an X-700. Don't know if any are useable. Will find out after a massive clean-up. I wanted to give the X-570 to Sherri as I already have one and she does not. And I wish to give the zoom to her also. Sherri likes zoom lenses and me, not so much. The X-570 is missing the battery cap. Anyone have one on a parts camera that they'd like to sell? In between watching football this weekend I'll be cleaning these "mint" condition cameras and lenses up.

Only one I have is from an XG-A, lemme look for it and I'll see if it works on my X-570.

Well, after the preliminary check---the X-700 is operational but the XG-M and the X-570 are not. The 3 lenses however are fine. Randy--I suppose I do not need that battery cap for the X-570 after all. I'll still give it to Sherri but it will just be a shelf queen--display purposes only. Bummer! Bob

Bob,
If all the X-570 needs to make it operational and give Sherri a camera she wants is a battery cap, just perhaps.... I have a basket case Minolta Hi-Matic 7. The cap is about the size of a penny. Would that do?

Hi Mickey
Thank you for your knid offer. But sadly, no, X-570 was tested with a battery cap/holder from another working X-570 (from my collection) and it has other problems. it is jammed and will not release the mirror and will not trip the shutter and will not cycle at all. I tried a few tricks I know to get it to unjam with no luck. But thank you....very kind of you to offer.

That X-700 is a top of the line Minolta Bob, so if that one works consider youselves pretty fortunate. I have one with the original boxes, packing, manual, and motor drive with flash, and I love it. What's funny is the main box says Kmart Focal and the price sticker is still there. $429.97....whew!

Hi Randy---Yes....1 out of 3 is OK....considering the working one is the X-700. And the 3 lenses look good too. Wow! $430. when new---not cheap. The most interesting thing about this purchase is it seems the fellow who owned this gear used the XG-M till is malfunctioned then left the film in it and purchased the X-570. Used that till the X-570 malfunctioned--left the film in it. Purchased the X-700 and used that. Never looked back to the defective cameras and never even took the film or batteries out of them. Amazing!

Hi Bob,
How about an update on the X-700? Has it turned out to be a keeper? I just bought one on eBay and I'm finding the aperture priority comes in handy. I now have several lenses too although the most attractive is the 50/1.7. What lenses do you have? I have a Rokkor 50, Rokkor 35, Braun 28, a Rokkor 28-70 zoom, and a Miida 300mm. The zoom is new so I'm trying to make use of it, although I do prefer fixed lens in general for the lighter weight.. How do you like the gear now that you've had it for a while?

Hi all... first I want to ask permisson for join this discussion about electronic minolta analog camera.. bobcurios when read a statement ..."I tried a few tricks I know to get it to unjam with no luck." ... , do you mind to explaint a litte bit more detail about the tricks, 'couse I have that kind of minolta too and perhaps someday I need to do your trick to treat the stuck mirror like that. @mickhael nice range of focal lens ... I love the rokkor 35 but unfortunately still dont have one of that rokkor lens. Can you give me some pict that take with that rokkor? X700 is my fav too among electronic minoltas , the minor disadvantage (for me) is that cam only can work with battery. ... compare to my lovely FG that born in the same era but still have 1/90 mechanical shutter. .. ( sorry , i think it's OOT . ) thanks.- didon.-
