Dear friends, i achieved before some weeks a black Canonet G-III QL 17, which was made in Japan, serialnumber 825868. As i read, only a few cameras of that model were made in Japan, most of them were made in Taiwan. Do anybody know about the differences between the japanese and the taiwanese models, how much black models were produced in Japan ? Best regards from Boris

Sorry I can't help with your questions but I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I am sure some of the more experienced members will be able to answer them. I have never seen a black one but I am willing to bet that it is a very nice camera in that colour. Be sure and post some photos of it and some of what it produces. Have fun.
Bob

You have to have your photos in a place like Photo Bucket and insert an img tag into your post for the photo to appear here. Maybe one of the old hands can explain it better. Your English is better than any of my second languages.

Very good looking camera in black. Is that the original hood too? Be sure and share some photos you take with that black beauty with us.

Hello Bob,
the plastic hood is the original Canonet hood 5. The form is assymetric and looks very cool. There exists a more convenient round Canonet hood 4, which fits on the QL 17, too. It was harder to find the original hood than the camera.

Very nice looking camera Boris, that lens hood is striking on the black.
