I've just changed the default skin to a more pleasing setup. You can edit the way the forum looks by going to Your Profile and choosing Modify Profile. You can then choose Skin Color from Plain Colors, Blue Colors, or Default. Once you make your selection, save it and press home to see the change.

I have just noticed the new motto, " Vintage Without The Funny Smell"
Some of my cameras do have that "Funny" smell.
Am I disqualified?

MIK,
All of the smelly ones are bellows cameras. I am reluctant to spray anything around or into a camera as I don't know what the spray might do.
I put a jar lid of bicarbonate of soda into the camera and a red tag on the outside as a reminder. It works but takes a long time.

"a little dab'll do ya!" My kindergarten art teacher always used that phrase when talking about paste.

Obviously you guys have never stored 60+ leather FSU "never ready" camera cases in you closet. It you had, you would know "vintage" can smell.

Wayne,
I have a closet full.
I get your drift.
It's peculiar how fresh leather can smell so good but give it a few years and it becomes - what's a good word? - indelicate.

The slogan refers to the website not having the funny smell.

Mickey, I love your delicate choice of a word. Sooo refined . Much more delicate than saying it stinks like those well-known chemicals Sh1T and K9P. ;D PeterW

I think in the case of Commie camera cases the smell comes from the fact that the leather was cured using the urine of the Yaks whose hair supplied the string for the cameras sent to Ebay winners. (You probably have to be a long time FSU camera collector to know what I'm talking about).

Wayne, I know what you mean, I have a lot of these old Russian "never ready" cases in my basement. This "red" history has a distinctive smell ;D
