Thank you all for kind wishes.
It's bedtime were I am, although I realise there may be places where the sun hasn't yet risen on the 12th.
We would have gone to a local park and had coffee at their fancy cafe, unfortunately it rained all day, so we put it off.
My birthday specialty is Sauerkraut with various manners of pork, done in the Alsation manner. If you you're put off by Sauerkraut,
you can call it choucroute garnie instead (sorry Mik, no offence, just trying to make it sound more palatable to possible doubters,
I'll happily have garlic soup and dumplings as second preference).
My family shows its devotion by keeping a straight face as they eat and then asking for a second helping.
