A workmate brought in his father's Ricoh 500G the other day, retrieved from the garage. After cleaning the lens, replacing the light seals, and installing a 625A hearing aid battery (1.4v), I took a roll of C-41 B&W film. Had it developed at the drugstore, and the results were very pleasing! Now I'm wondering what a fair price to offer would be. Any suggestions? I'm thinking in the $15-20 range.

Ebay is quite a good place to get a market value. You may also pay a bit more, if you need not to pay the money transfer or a shipping fee.
15 - 25 $ should be adequate depending on the condition, of course.

Michael,
Considering you resurrected what was little more than trash and turned it into a useable camera and that you invested your time and skills and materials, I think your price is very fair if not generous.

Hi Stephen, I've got to ask something, I have three OM 10's myself, one I traded for, one I bought for $10 and one I bought as parts only for the lens and manual adaptor. Just curious why you'd buy 10 or 12 of them? Nothing wrong with that, I have 11 Zenit E's myself, just wondered is there any feature you prefer on them as I also have an OM1, OMG and OM PC and like them all?

Michael I think that as you've taken so much trouble to sort the camera out it's more a case of how much does he owe you!

Thanks everyone, I'm dropping off a roll of color today. I was quite happy with the b&w roll I tried. Here's a sample, on Kodak BW400CN film. Do I really need another camera? Probably not, but this one is very pleasing to hold and has a decent viewfinder. And it seems to have a reliable auto setting for shutter speed priority.

Hi Michael--I've stood many times right where you shot these from. Thanks for the memories! Very nice shots! Roy

You are absolutely right. I wrote as I wrote because Ebay is quite a good place to get a market value for me. At least if I desperately want a Ricoh500 and can't find it here;D Of course the use of the common sense is allways permitted. The shipping fee for me is about 20 Euros and that will make almost 32 USD. So if I buy it on Ebay the price will be about minus 15 USD compared to 15 USD at the straight trade (I hope, that you understand what I mean ;D) There is a difference between the German or Swedish vs. UK Ebay. Prices are obviously higher at UK and I wonder why? I would never pay more than 10 Euro for a OM-10 unless it is in unopened box.

Stephen, I ask you a remission because the truth is, that I have two OM-10. One silver and one black. The black one is a "straight from the box" example. My opinion is, that it is a decent camera even for an advanced amateur. A budget body for Zuiko lenses, just like you said it. Olympus OM-10
