Hi ! A rare view had been seen yesterday night in the European sky: A total lunar eclipse where the colour of the moon turned to blood-red, it could also be seen in South America and Asia. The colour came from the sunlight`s refraction in the atmosphere, this event was visible for about two hours. Unfortunately I`ve only seen the last 30 minutes, because of a hill that was in its way and the rising of the moon was very low, but it appeared very big. Took the first picture ( Nikon D-90 ) with 25 sec. exposure time, standard settings. The other two with 600mm / 1600 ASA / 4.5 sec. at aperture 8, manual focussing. The next chance to see a red lunar eclipse is in 10 years. MIK

We could not see it down here in Montevideo, stormy skies all night long and a lot of rain.
