Hi All! The rain has let up for a couple of days, and the summer flowers are popping out Flowers are my favorite subjects. I have so many shots. I suppose I should do something with them. Doug

Doug, I also have got umpteen flower photos in the 'bank'. I do sometimes set out to photograph flowers but I usually get sidetracked by the animals on and around the plants. Perhaps we should have flower thread similar to the competition thread Mickey started (with some success). Crocosmia - a few weeks ago. They are 'going over' now. I had just been off to check your "black eyes". I had the name black eyed susan at the back of my mind and wasn't sure if that was what yours were. Dave.

Doug, I, too, like photographing flowers. They are such patient sitters, never running off for a snack although they can be rather fidgety at times. They are also home to an assortment of colourful, photogenic inhabitants and visitors. This is a photo of some kinfolk of your Black Eyes. At first it looked like an unruly mob scene but it proved to be a benign riot of colour. I like Dave's suggestion of a flower thread. We would never run out of pictures. Mickey

Have you noticed that the day can be completely wind free till you get the camera out to photograph flowers. Then they seem to be swaying all over the place.

Dave, At my favourite flower filming place, Edwards Gardens, there are always half a dozen or more photographers doing their thing. It is not uncommon for one of us to stand between the breeze and the subject to act as a windbreak for a perfect stranger trying to photograph his masterpiece. Mickey

Mickey, occasionally I have resorted to tying the blighters to a cane. The trouble then is keeping the cane and tie out of shot.
It's the Southport flower show this coming weekend - plenty of captive flowers indoors so wind isn't too much of a problem. I'm not sure if we are going though as we have provisionally booked a weekend away. If I start posting loads of flower photos, you'll know I did go.
