A package arrived at our house today from MIK. I am now the proud owner of a Futurit camera--the only camera ever made in Bratislava - cica 1937 or '38. Made of genuine Bakelite and looks like it was just made (the photo doesn't do it justice). I'm probably one of the only people in the U.S. with a Futurit. Thanks, MIK. What a great gift. I'll always remember our "coffee hour" in Vienna. Wayne

Very cool Wayne and another I'd never seen before. Nice gift MIK, you sure come across some rarities.

That's very nice! I think it looks really art deco.

Wayne,
In the future it will form the centre (or perhaps as you are in the USA - center) piece of your collection!
I presume the two knobs are 1) shutter release 2) sliding f-stop or maybe for shutter speeds I and B. Whichever, weren't cameras simple in those days.
A lovely gesture, MIK.

The top knob is the shutter release. The one on the side is to select regular shutter speed or Timed. I gave him a Graphic 35 so we both now have cameras we wouldn't likely run across at home.

A new name for the forum, perhaps: International Camera Exchange.
Sid, we had a nice drop of rain here yesterday.

Which reminds me, MIK hasn't been on line since Nov. 19 and hasn't responded to a couple of emails I sent. Hope he's OK.

Hi Wayne ! Here I am back again. I left Vienna for a week`s holiday ;D and unfortunately a truckload of work had been waiting for me, as I returned on Monday, so I did`nt have the time yet to answer all mails, I am sorry for that. I`ll try to catch up till Friday. Here is the special gift from Wayne, a Graphic 35, very unusual by European standards. This is the camera which will remind me of our meeting in Vienna , Thanks again, Wayne ! MIK
