Just finished a 58-page 8.5 x 11-inch book (landscape format) on our recent cruise on European rivers. I did it through Snapfish, the publishing arm of Hewlett Packard. It is primarily photos (135 total). I have done previous books on our earlier Europe trip and a trip to China, too, although both were only in the 30-page range. It's a good way to show people where you went without dragging out a pile of individual prints. Snapfish does a fantastic job on the color and sharpness as long as you send images of high enough resolution. In order to to have an image fill the entire page I usually make it at least 180 ppi by 8 inches wide. Most images will be a meg or over so it would be tough to do it using dial-up.

That is a very interesting idea that I had not thought about. Thanks for posting about it. I'm going to have to check it out.

I have one a friend did a couple of years ago (Sale rugby club trips). I've mocked up two or three, but never got round to printing them. Someday I shall.
