Hi there Karen, Greetings to you from upstate New York! You'll find this a great place to be, and to hone those photo skills as well. Having 2 children is having endless photo ops. You're sure to get good, honest advice from anyone here. Looking forward to those pics Doug

Welcome, Karen -- from Idaho. Feel free to jump into the conversations. And there is no such thing as a silly question here.

Welcome to the Collector. We have some great photographers here, but most of us just love old cameras.

Welcome, Karen. Greetings from cold Michigan (just shoveled a few more inches of snow this morning). There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here but I think you'll find their friendliness to be the neatest part of belonging. Looking forward to seeing some of your pictures!

Col, it seems Albany is the place to live for 'sensible' temperatures. I must have a look at the weather map. I didn't realise there was that much difference between Perth and Albany - q.v. the thread about your new dog.

Dave there is a noticeable difference in temperatures. Albany it's cooler than summer in Perth even on the odd hot day by late afternoon it has cooled down, and even in summer you need a blanket on your bed at night . The winters are cold but not as cold as it get up north in Perth..
So Perth is bloody hot in summer and cold in winter..Albany summer warm with the odd hot day.. Winter cold but not that cold.
