Exchangeable lenses ? Wow ... did they use an Aires specific or more common mount. Never saw single Aires lenses ... They were Aires specific. For this camera they provided a 35mm and a 100mm as well as two different 45mm. One a f/1.9 and another at f/1.5. More here..... www.photoethnography.com/ClassicCameras/Aires35V.htmlAnd here...... www.cameraguild.jp/nekosan/aires35v.htmhttp://www.cameraguild.jp/nekosan/aires35v.htmThe way I got this one for a low price was...The seller on Ebay misspelled the name. They Spelled it "Aries" instead of "Aires". So unless you misspelled it in your search or as I did purposely spell it different ways then your search would not have shown this camera. Same with the Voigtlander Vitoret I recently bought. The Seller spelled it" VoigtHander". Not many bids on it!!

Hahaha ... that is always a good chance As already posted somewhere else, the same thing also happened to me. The seller named the camera as "Lover Six" instead of "Clover Six". Got the camera for the start price ;D

A fine looking camera. I must look up the history of the company: Aries too!

A fine looking camera. I must look up the history of the company: Aries too! Quite a bit of history there. Only made cameras for a short time but they always tried for quality. The 35 IIIL and the 35 IIIC were good ones as well. My Viscount is a very good camera. The Seikosha shutters are among the quietest ones out there.

I've got the 35 IIIL and the 35 IIIC. Nice little units too. Aires always went for quality, trying to get that market share. From what I here they never could mass produce & got swallowed up or just went bust. Must look into what happened there. What I like is the film advance lever. The little cut away is to aid in pulling it away from the camera with a flick of the index finger, so you don't need to squeeze your thumb between camera & lever. Bloody well designed.

I agree with the well designed. You can feel the quality when you hold and use one.
