Hello everybody!
My first camera was a box Brownie, given to me by my mother for my tenth birthday in 1945. My first serious camera was a Leica Ig, which I had rebuilt as a IIIg and still own. Over the years I acquired a few other cameras, both rangefinder and SLR, including some Canons and some Russian jobs. Since I discovered ebay I have acquired a motley collection of cameras, but I'm finding it hard to actually take photos with them all, so I think the plan is to rationalise and reduce the stock to a minimum of a dozen or so nice cameras. This will be hard to do, as every time I see a 'bargain' on ebay, I tend to plunge. The latest acquisition is a Fed 4, which is having a film run through it at the moment. The shutter and exposure meter seem to be OK,although I won't really know until I see the results, but the rangefinder seems to be out. I must find out how to adjust it.

Welcome to the forum. I know the feeling of being overwhelmed by too many cameras. I used to try to run a roll of film through each one, but now I have a backlog and it gets expensive for processing. I am also going to try to pare the numbers down to the best several and only aquire new ones that are better than what I have. I also have a hard time tuning down a good camera when it is practically free.

Welcome. We all have experienced the feelings you are having. Russian cameras are like potato chips..you can't have just one or two.

Welcome to the forum. Another one here who can't resist bargains. Nothing rational about collecting.

rskerrett77,
Welcome.
It will be interesting to see how well your rationalization bears up.
I think many of us here have made such resolutions but been overwhelmed by temptation.
You'll like it here.

Thanks, everyone! I'm glad I'm not alone in my strange obsession. Somehow I thought there would be other sufferers around. An example of my foolishness is that although I have quite a few Fed 2s, none of which work properly in spite of being advertised as "everything work properly" or some statement such as " speeds seem appropriate", I am thinking on putting a bid on another. However, I recently acquired a Zorki 4 with engraved Cyrillic logo that really does work, so an element of faith and trust still remains. ;-). I think the Fed 2 is the nicest of the Feds, and I would like to own one that "work properly".
